, missouri, with more for us now. claudia? >> reporter: well, jenna, the snowstorm has pretty much moved on but it is still a snow day for the kids and tough going out on the roads. not so much on the main highways or the city streets like this one here in downtown kansas city, but more in the residential neighborhoods and on the side streets where the plows really haven't had a chance to get in there and push all of the snow out of the way. as you mention the roads were an icy mess throughout the region yesterday. a lot of slipping and sliding. not a lot of serious crashes because people were out on the road and poor visibility made it hard for drivers to go very fast. those out and about today need to be careful especially if the streets are lined with the large snowdrifts. they might want to have a snow shovel with them. it was a very dynamic storm with snow, freezing rain. what the national weather service calls thunder sleet. lightning really lit up the skyline overnight and temperatures in the 20s over the next few days means all the heavy snow will stay put. farmers certainly hope

joins us live at the ferry building in san francisco with what we might learn today. good morning, bob. >> reporter: in a few hours the marin county sheriff's office is supposed to release the name of the person that was killed and the other one injured when their pleasure craft crashed into the ferry. next week the coast guard will release their findings. it happened around 4:00 saturday afternoon. 22-foot boat reportedly speeding when it collided with one of the golden gate ferries. the crash happening in a waterway near angel island. two people on that boat were flown to the hospital. one died yesterday. the other is still recovering from their injuries and you should see in the video that the front of the pleasure craft including its windshield was heavily damaged but the boat was still afloat and did not sink. none of the 500 people onboard the ferry were hurt and the ferry's five crew members have been drug tested and placed on administrative leave pending results of those tests which is standard procedure when you have an accident like this. bob redell, "today in the bay." >>> a
